絵本「スイミー」
ひとつだけ雰囲気の異なる部屋をつくる
堺スイミー総合クリニック
大阪の堺市に開業した「堺スイミー総合クリニック」の内装計画である。
既存ビル内のスケルトンからの改修、いわゆるC工事であり、周辺のコンテクストとは切り離されている。そこで、クリニック名の由来である『スイミー』（レオ・レオニ作）の物語を拠り所に設計をふくらませていった。物語をヒントに空間化することは面白い試みであり、そうすることで自然とクリニックの親しみやすさに繋がると考えた。身近な人々が訪れやすく、地域医療の中心となるクリニックをコンセプトにしている。
スイミーは小さな魚であるが、他と異なる体色をしており、その個性が可能性を切り拓いていく。クリニック空間においても、たくさんある部屋の中にひとつだけ雰囲気の異なる部屋をつくった。具体的には、内科、外科、美容医療といったベースとなる医療諸室は清潔感のある白を基調とし、その中に凹凸していて暖かいベージュ色の部屋を挿入した。この部屋が背骨のように全体を支え、白い医療諸室とコントラストを生みながら、安らぎや落ち着きをつくりだしている。凸凹形状は待合ベンチになったり、本を置いたり、診察室への出入口になっていたりと、利用シーンに応じて様々な使い方ができる。
１つの中心と全体が相互に支え合うようなあり方で、やさしさに溢れるクリニックができあがった。

This is the interior design for the Sakai Swimmy General Clinic, which opened in Sakai City, Osaka.
It is a so-called C-construction, a renovation of the skeleton of an existing building, and is separated from the surrounding context. Therefore, the design was expanded based on the story of "Swimmy" (written by Leo Lionni), from which the clinic is named. It was an interesting attempt to create a space inspired by a story, and it was thought that doing so would naturally lead to the clinic being more approachable. The concept is to create a clinic that is easy for people to visit and serves as the center of local medical care.
Swimmy is a small fish, but it has a different body color from the others, and its individuality opens up possibilities. In the clinic space, we created one room with a different atmosphere among the many rooms. Specifically, the medical rooms that form the base of the clinic, such as internal medicine, surgery, and cosmetic medicine, are based on a clean white color, and a warm, uneven beige room is inserted into it. This room supports the whole building like a spine, creating a contrast with the white medical rooms and creating a sense of peace and calm. The uneven surface can be used in a variety of ways depending on the situation, such as as a waiting bench, a place to put books, or an entrance to an examination room.
With one center and the whole supporting each other, a clinic full of kindness has been created.
