入れ子のクリニック
入れ子の構造が生む、柔らかな診療空間
本計画は、22坪という限られたテナント空間における内科クリニックのインテリアデザインである。限られた面積の中で、患者と医師双方の動線を最適化すべく、回遊性を持たせたプランを採用。診察室を中心に据えた結果、自然と入れ子状の平面構成が導かれた。
中心に据えられた入れ子は、75角のヒノキフレームによって構成され、小屋のようなスケール感と親密さを空間に与える。フレームには、面材やカーテン、家具などを絡めることで、用途ごとの独立性を確保しつつ、全体としては緩やかにつながる空間体験をつくり出している。物理的な広さを超えた、視覚的・感覚的な広がりが得られる構成である。
仕上げには、温かみと清潔感を兼ね備えたシナ材を使用。一部の壁には半透明のポリカーボネート板を採用し、自然光が空間の奥まで届くよう配慮した。柔らかな光が場全体を包み、患者のみならず医療スタッフにとっても快適な環境を提供している。フレームに取り付けたカーテンや家具は可動性・拡張性に富み、運営方針の変更や医療体制の変化にも柔軟に対応可能。変化する要素と不変の構造体とを意識的に階層化し、クリニックが時間とともに成長していくための基盤をかたちづくった。

A Gentle Clinical Space Shaped by Nested Structures
This project is an interior design for an internal medicine clinic, planned within a compact 22-tsubo (approximately 73 square meters) tenant space. To optimize the flow of both patients and medical staff within the limited area, the layout adopts a circulation-oriented plan. As a result, a naturally nested floor composition emerged, with the consultation room positioned at the center.
At the heart of the space lies a nested structure composed of 75mm-square hinoki (Japanese cypress) frames, creating a hut-like scale and an atmosphere of intimacy. By integrating panels, curtains, and furniture into the frames, the design maintains the independence of each functional zone while gently connecting them to form a cohesive spatial experience. This composition offers a sense of visual and sensory expansion that exceeds the physical limits of the site.
The finishing materials include shina plywood, chosen for its warmth and sense of cleanliness. Semi-transparent polycarbonate panels are used on portions of the walls to allow natural light to penetrate deep into the space. The soft, diffused light envelops the entire clinic, providing a comfortable environment not only for patients but also for staff.
Curtains and furniture attached to the frames are designed for easy movement and expansion, allowing for flexible responses to future operational changes or shifts in medical practice. By intentionally layering adaptable elements with a stable structural core, the clinic is designed as a space that can grow and evolve over time.
