重なりの家

兵庫・甲子園の住宅地に建つ、RCと木の架構を重ね合わせた住宅である。量感のあるコンクリートフレームの内側に、木の屋根や壁、階段、テラス、造作を差し込み、それぞれをわずかにずらしながら組み合わせた。そこに生まれる隙間や段差が、内と外、上下階、街と住まいのあいだをゆるやかにつなぎ、光や風、植栽、人の気配を受け止める。異なる素材と時間をもつ要素が共存し、暮らしの変化を受け入れながら、年月とともに育っていく住まいを目指した。

Located in a residential neighborhood of Koshien, Hyogo, this house brings together a reinforced-concrete framework and a timber structure. Within the solid concrete frame, wooden roofs, walls, staircases, terraces, and built-in elements are inserted and arranged with subtle shifts. The gaps and level differences created between them gently connect inside and outside, the upper and lower floors, and the house with the surrounding neighborhood, while welcoming light, air, greenery, and traces of everyday life. By allowing elements of different materials and temporal qualities to coexist, the house is designed to embrace changes in the way it is lived in and to grow gradually over time.
